Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared an AI-generated image depicting a nuclear explosion over Tel Aviv on October 25, two days before Israel's general election, warning that an Iranian nuclear weapon would render all other political debates meaningless, according to a report by The Times of Israel. "If the Iranians obtain nuclear weapons, nothing else will matter anymore," Netanyahu wrote, adding, "If two atomic bombs were to fall on central Israel, who would care about all these meaningless controversies?"

Netanyahu, who attributed the framing to political commentator Yuval Bloomberg, argued that a limited window exists to confront Iran while Donald Trump remains US president, and warned voters they risk a "second Holocaust" if they elect a leader he suggested would be unable to confront Tehran.

Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot responded sharply on social media. "Netanyahu, you're hysterical," he wrote. "As in every election campaign, it's the same method of lies and scare tactics. This time, threatening Israeli citizens with mass destruction. You've failed. And in two days, the people of Israel will show you that at the ballot box." Democrats chairman Yair Golan also condemned the post, calling for Netanyahu to be kept off social media.

The exchange capped a campaign already marked by escalating rhetoric on both sides, with two days left before Israelis decide whether to extend Netanyahu's government or replace it.
